GENEVA December 10. 2023 (Saba) - The special session of the Executive Board of the World Health Organization on occupied Palestine has concluded with a consensus decision and without a vote.
According to al-Mayadeen, the WHO confirmed a decision calling for the continuous and unhindered entry of medical and relief equipment into Gaza.
The decision also stipulates the continued provision of financial and medical aid to the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank, in conjunction with the Zionist aggression.
On the other hand, the representative of the Zionist enemy entity rejected this decision, citing that it did not refer to the Zionist prisoners held by the Palestinian resistance and did not demand their release.
For his part, Ministry of Health spokesman in Gaza Ashraf Al-Qudra stated that there were about 18,000 martyrs and 49,500 people injured in the Zionist-American aggression in two months ago.
Earlier, Palestinian Red Crescent spokesman Raed al-Nims said that the meager aid being brought in through Rafah crossing does not match five percent of the emergency and medical needs of the sector.
Al-Nims pointed out that all hospitals in the northern sector are out of service. Ambulances are not running because they are running out of fuel.
In turn, head of the Palestinian NGO Network Amjad Shawa spoke to al-Mayadeen about an “unprecedented disaster” that the people of Gaza are experiencing, pointing out that the displacement rate has reached 85 percent and that the situation has deteriorated further.
WHO Director Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus had warned of the catastrophic impact of the war in the Gaza Strip.
