HODEIDA December 06. 2023 (Saba)- The Minister of Transport in the caretaker government, Abdul Wahab Al-Durrah, and Hodeida Governor , Muhammad Ayyash Qahim, today inaugurated work on the first phase of the dry land port project for heavy transport trucks at the entrance to Hodeida city .
The floor area of the port overlooking the eastern gate of Hodeida Port is 44 thousand square meters, at a cost of 97 million riyals for the first phase, funded by the General Authority for Land Transport, which includes parking lots for trucks and heavy transport vehicles with accessories to provide them with fuel services and maintenance workshops.
At the inauguration, Minister Al-Durra appreciated the cooperation of local authority leadership in the province in providing a basis for establishing the land port, which is one of the projects of the Land Transport Authority to organize parking for heavy trucks designated for transporting goods from Hodeida port to the provinces.
Al-Durra confirmed that the Ministry's intention to establish a dry land port in Hodeida is one of the priorities linked to the national vision for building the state, noting that the land port will contribute to the collection of trucks to reduce congestion and random stopping on the main lines.
