SANA'A December 05. 2023 (Saba)-His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, Head of the Supreme Political Council, approved the draft plan of the General Administration of Traffic Police development and its executive mechanism submitted by Interior Minister of the caretaker government, Major General Abdul Karim Al-Houthi.
That came during his meeting today with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for the Security and Police Sector, Major General Ahmed Jaafar, the Director General of Command and Control of the Ministry, Major General Ali Al Houthi, the Director General of the Traffic Police, Brigadier General Dr. Bakil Al Barashi, and the Traffic Police Construction and Development Team.
His Excellency the President directed the concerned and relevant authorities to implement what was stated in the traffic police plan and its implementation mechanism, each within his jurisdiction.
President Al-Mashat listened to a detailed explanation of traffic work at the level of the Capital Secretariat and the provinces, and the mechanisms that were taken to prepare the draft traffic police development plan in line with developments in traffic work and community mobility in general.
The President of the Supreme Political Council praised the initiative of Interior Ministry and the efforts of the Traffic Police Command in improving traffic performance at the level of the capital, Sana'a, and the provinces, despite the congestion witnessed by the municipality and the province capitals.
He also directed that executive measures be taken of what was included in the draft traffic police plan, to ensure smooth implementation on the ground.
