MOSCOW Aug. 15. 2023 (Saba) - The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday that its units, in cooperation with the technical and air forces of the Russian military group "Vostok", destroyed more than 20 combat positions of the Ukrainian military forces and cut off the advance of six groups of enemy infantry near the city of Uruzhny in Donetsk.
"The units of the 'Vostok' military group, in cooperation with the technical and air forces, carried out fire attacks on the enemy in the Urugaini region," Oleg Chekhov, head of the press center of the Russian "Vostok" forces, was quoted by the "Sputnik" agency. He pointed out that during the battle, the Russian forces were able to discover and suppress more than twenty combat sites and gatherings of Ukrainian military forces.
Chekhov added "The advance of six groups of enemy infantry was prevented and an armored fighting vehicle and an armored personnel carrier belonging to the Ukrainian forces were destroyed."
The Russian forces are continuing their special military operation, to complete the liberation of the four regions that joined the Russian Federation last year (Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kherson provinces).
Since the launch of the operation, on February 24, 2022, Moscow has set its goals to protect the population of Donbass region, neutralize threats to Russia's security, force Ukraine into military neutrality, and eliminate Nazi tendencies in the region.
