MOSCOW Aug. 13. 2023 (Saba) - Russian battleships moored off the Syrian coast have targeted sites of the militants of the "Islamic State" organization in the Syrian desert with a group of precision missiles, according to the Russian agency (Sputnik) quoting a Russian source.
The source said the sites of the organization that were targeted are located between the deserts of Homs and Hama,” noting that “based on accurate intelligence information intersected with extensive reconnaissance operations conducted by the Russian Air Force, one of the headquarters of ISIS was destroyed between the deserts of Hama and Homs, after midnight on Saturday."
He confirmed that "the missile was carried out through the platforms of one of the Russian warships located off the Syrian coast."
Earlier, a security source reported to "Sputnik", last Friday, that 20 soldiers were killed and 10 others were wounded in an ambush on a bus carrying them in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, eastern Syria.
The source explained that "ISIS militants carried out an ambush targeting a military overnight bus on the road to the second station, T2, in Mayadeen desert in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor."
It is noteworthy that violent internal clashes with heavy and light weapons broke out, on July 25, between armed groups loyal to the US army in the vicinity of the illegal American bases in the oil and gas fields in the countryside of Deir Ezzor, eastern Syria.
