PARIS July 09. 2023 (Saba) - France announced on Sunday new military aid to Kiev as part of Western support for Ukraine.

Russia Today website quoted French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna in an interview with RFI radio as saying that the support the France provides to Kiev aims to ensure that the needs of the Ukrainian government are met through cooperation with their allies and partners

Colonna added the support would continue, adding "we will work to intensify it and work is underway to prepare new shipments of military aid to meet Ukraine's urgent needs."

The French minister indicated that her country is working in partnership with its allies to determine the security guarantees that can be provided to Ukraine, in parallel with the process of integrating it into NATO.

Colonna pointed out that the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius should provide specific content for the prospects for Ukraine's accession to the alliance and provide an opportunity to strengthen support for Ukraine in the long term.

French President Emmanuel Macron said earlier that his country would continue to provide military assistance to Kiev.
