OCCUPIED Al-QUDS July 09. 2023 (SABA) - The representative of the European Union in Palestine, Sven Kühn von Burgsdorff said on Saturday that the recent Zionist aggression against the city and camp of Jenin had been "painful", stressing that what had happened was a violation of international law.
During his inspection, effects of destruction in Jenin camp the European official, together with 30 diplomats, said that dozens of houses had been destroyed within nine kilometres, in addition to drinking pipes and sanitation.
According to the Palestinian news agency, von Burgsdorff, the Zionist entity, demanded that "any action that harms Palestinian civilians and has consequences for them should be directly and clearly refrained from", that international law should be respected and that any abuses by settlers should be openly investigated with the perpetrator held accountable.
The European spokesman explained that the purpose of the visit was to solidarity with the Palestinian civilian population in the camp, "who must be protected under all circumstances, especially children and families", to learn about the damage done and to work to report to all capitals of diplomatic missions on what happened in Jenin.
The Zionist enemy forces launched large-scale aggression against the city of Jenin and its camp at dawn last Monday, which lasted for two days, killing 12 Palestinians, including five children and more than 140 injured, including 30 serious injuries, as well as destroying infrastructure in the camp and seriously damaging citizens' homes and property.
