SANA'A March 22. 2023 (Saba) - The Ministry of the Interior on Wednesday announced its security achievements during eight years of steadfastness, which amounted to 288,866 security achievements.
The Ministry of the Interior stated in a statement that at the forefront of these achievements was thwarting criminal plans of the enemy, which managed to seize 1,310 cells that were planning to carry out sabotage and assassination plots in the capital Sana'a and the free provinces.
The statement confirmed the failure of 347 suicide operations by the takfiri elements that were targeting citizens in public places and the seizure and dismantling of 3,207 devices and explosives prepared by elements of the aggression to target the lives of citizens in roads and public places.
It pointed to the arrest of 1,23 members of the takfiri groups, and 24,965 members recruited by the aggression to carry out sabotage operations aimed at security and stability, in addition to the arrest of 2,094 members to carry out monitoring and targeting operations.
The statement stated that in the field of drug and alcohol control, since the beginning of the aggression, the Ministry of Interior carried out 12,634 operations during which it seized hundreds of tons of narcotic hashish and quantities of other drugs and alcohol, all of which were coming from the areas controlled by the aggression and its mercenaries.
It reported that 194,39 serious crimes were seized, 982 forgery crimes were seized, 16,854 stolen items were seized and recovered, and 461 highway robberies were seized.
The statement pointed out that the number of organized criminal gangs that were seized during the eight years amounted to 587 gangs, whose activities varied between theft and burglary, theft under duress, forgery, robbery and other crimes.
According to the report of the Ministry of the Interior, the security services worked to combat the smuggling and entry of spoiled and expired foodstuffs and medicines to the provinces and free zones, where 288 seizures of medicines and 458 seizures of expired foodstuffs were carried out, in addition to thwarting 25,492 smuggling operations of various goods and carrying out 4,497 seizures of customs violations.
During eight years of steadfastness, the various units of the Ministry of Interior carried out 23,337 missions to secure popular and official gatherings, activities and events.
In the field of evaluating security work, the Inspector General and the Complaints Center received 33,138 complaints, of which 31,463 complaints were completed, with a rate of 99 percent, while it became clear that 1,369 complaints were malicious.
The statement said, "One of the most prominent features of steadfastness is the great victories achieved in the security field, achievements that revealed and thwarted the plans of aggression, through which it wanted to target the life and security of society, and weaken the home front by various means, as it recruited and trained takfiri groups and elements, provided them with money and weapons, and directed them to implement them." Criminal operations, taking innocent lives with explosive devices, trying to spread crime with its various names, and recruiting many cells to destabilize security.
The statement of the Ministry of the Interior also confirmed that the Ministry was able, in coordination with the various security agencies, and with the cooperation of honorable citizens, not only to thwart the plans of aggression and thwart its conspiracies and to achieve security and stability, but also, during the eight years, it was able to develop security work and correct it to keep pace with security data, achieve the aspirations of the Yemeni people and embody the goals of their revolution despite the direct targeting of its headquarters, cadres and capabilities.
The Ministry of Interior reaffirmed that the security services will remain the faithful guardian of the security and stability of the Yemeni people, expressing thanks to all citizens for their great cooperation with the security men, appreciating the role of everyone who contributed to the consolidation and strengthening of security and stability.
