SANA'A February 06. 2023 (Saba) – Minister of Foreign Affairs Hisham Sharaf met here on Tuesday with Deputy Executive Director of the World Food Program (WFP) for Program and Policy Development Valerie Guarnieri.
During the meeting, which was attended by the resident representative of the program in Yemen Richard Ragan, Hisham and Guarnieri reviewed the Program's future plans in Yemen in order to face the repercussions of the humanitarian catastrophe created by the military aggression and the comprehensive blockade for the eighth year in a row.
In the meeting, Sharaf stressed that there is no solution to the humanitarian crisis except by stopping the military aggression, lifting the blockade, and opening Hodeida port to receive all ships loaded with goods and foodstuffs without any obstacles.
Sharaf confirmed that the National Salvation Government provides all necessary facilities for the continuation of the WFP's activities.
In return, Guarnieri explained that the humanitarian situation in Yemen is at the top of the program's agenda, which is sustaining a lack of the required funds because the donors do not fulfill their financial pledges.
