SANA'A January 25. 2023 (Saba) - His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi al-Mashat, President of the Supreme Political Council, met on Wednesday the new head of the International Committee of the Red Cross delegation to Yemen, Daphnee Maret, and her accompanying team.
During the meeting, the roles of the Red Cross in Yemen during the eight years of the American-Saudi aggression and the siege on the Yemeni people were discussed.
In the meeting, President al-Mashat welcomed the new head of the International Committee of the Red Cross delegation to Yemen, praising the mission's efforts during the past years of aggression and siege in various fields.
The President called on the Red Cross mission to intensify its efforts to remove remnants of the aggression's weapons due to their impact on the lives of citizens. He said, "The longer it is delayed, the more the number of victims will increase."
President al-Mashat directed all concerned parties to provide all facilities to the ICRC mission in Yemen, and to enable it to carry out its humanitarian tasks.
