SANA'A January 16. 2023 (Saba) - His Excellency Field Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, Head of the Supreme Political Council, met today, Monday, with the UN Special Envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, and his accompanying team.
 
During the meeting, President Al-Mashat stressed the importance of the United Nations' role and its efforts to advance the peace process in Yemen.
 
"We, in the Republic of Yemen, are keen to alleviate the human suffering of the Yemeni people caused by the aggression, and to fulfill the people's demands for a just and honorable peace," he said.
 
For his part, Grundberg praised the efforts of His Excellency President Mahdi Al-Mashat in pushing the peace process forward and his keenness on the success of the truce during the previous period.
 
The meeting was attended by Parliament Speaker Yahya Al-Rai, Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor, and Deputy Prime Minister for Defense and Security Affairs Lieutenant General Jalal Al-Ruwaishan.
