President Hadi receives letter from Dutch PM


SANA'A, Aug. 24 (Saba) - President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi on Saturday received a letter from the Dutch Prime Minister regarding the strong and firm relations between the two countries.

The letter handed over by ambassador of the Netherlands to Yemen Jeroen Verheul indicated to intensify efforts to release the two Dutch national kidnapped in Yemen as well as continuing the efforts to fight terrorism as a common goal for all.

In his letter, the Dutch Prime Minister said that Yemen is among fifteen other countries that are partners with the Netherlands and also received the Dutch development aid.

Verheul said that the Dutch embassy in Yemen was reopened since last Tuesday to exercise its normal functions.

The President talked about Yemen's efforts to combat terrorism and achieve the desired stability and security to reduce acts of sabotage and kidnapping that harm Yemen and its economy. He also reviewed the Yemeni securities authorities' efforts to pursue the kidnappers and release the Dutch abductees safely as soon as possible.

He expressed his aspirations to continue and enhance the Yemeni-Dutch cooperation to enable the government to create job opportunities for youths, so as not to be misled by terrorist elements.

Hadi stressed that the Netherlands is a key and effectual partner to Yemen in support of development and combating poverty programs through the various Dutch-funded development projects in the country, expressing his gratitude to the Dutch aid provided to Yemen over the past years, which was the large proportion within the EU assistance to Yemen.
