PARIS November 30. 2022 (Saba) - The former French Ambassador to Yemen, Gilles Gauthier, revealed Saudi Arabia's and the United Arab Emirates' objective of aggression against Yemen for the eighth consecutive year.
Ambassador Gauthier said during an interview with France 24: "Saudi Arabia and the UAE have sought through the war on Yemen to weaken and destroy it for a number of reasons, the first is that Yemen's governance system is republican, while the Saudi Arabian and Emirates regimes are monarchies and dictatorships regimes, secondly, the two Gulf States see Yemen's density as an existential threat for them, especially since the population of the two countries plus all Gulf states does not equal the Yemeni population.
They could have faced their fears of integrating with Yemen and to take advantage of its population density, to build a strong Arab island, but unfortunately they resorted to war on it.
The former Ambassador of France ridiculed allegations of Iranian presence in Yemen. He said: "It's just propaganda, and then Yemeni Minister of the Interior confessed to me at that time during an encounter that they claimed to do so and had no evidence. "
He stressed that Saudi Arabia has no hope of victory at all costs due to the terrain of Yemen. Riyadh was involved in the war on Yemen.
