The Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Thursday that its air defense systems shot down 69 Ukrainian drones over Russian territory last night.

Sputnik quoted the ministry as saying in a statement: "Last night, operational air defense systems destroyed 69 Ukrainian drones."

The statement added: "Twenty-seven of them were destroyed over Belgorod Oblast, 22 over Voronezh Oblast, and 10 over Lipetsk Oblast. In addition, eight drones were shot down over Kursk Oblast and two over Crimea."

Ukrainian armed forces target Russian border areas in Crimea and the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, and Voronezh Oblasts with drones and missiles almost daily.

For its part, Russian forces are responding by targeting exclusively Ukrainian military infrastructure, as well as military-industrial complex facilities, everything related to the storage, repair, or manufacture of military equipment, and centers housing Ukrainian armed forces personnel and foreign mercenaries.
