SANA'A, Aug. 23 (Saba) - Shabwa governor Awad al-Awlaqi confirmed on Tuesday that Shabwa civilization and its free men were able to reveal the true face of the occupation and its false legitimacy.
In a statement to Saba, al-Awlaqi said that the current events in Shabwa revealed the Saudi-Emirati occupation's endeavor to plunder Yemen's wealth by imposing their control on the land to serve the interests of Western countries, led by the USA and Britain, which was achieved by the arrival of foreign forces to the province a few days ago.
He pointed out that the conflict between the tools of the aggression in Shabwa is part of an American-British plan to is implemented by the UAE and Saudi Arabia to enable the occupying countries and behind them, the USA and Britain, to control the gas and oil resources. "This was evidenced by a visit of a US senior official to Balhaf facility last March," the governor said.
He confirmed that the Saudi regime has been seeking for a long time to control parts of the province due to its natural wealth and oil reserves.
He stated that what is happening in Shabwa reveals the malicious goals of the Saudi-Emirati occupation to plunder more of the province's wealth, especially with the start of preparations for the resumption of gas exports from the Balhaf facility.
France and the USA has made a move and and begun negotiations with some countries of the region and the parties to the conflict to export Balhaf gas amid the rise in gas prices internationally, stressing that they woul provide protection to the facility by foreign forces that arrived in Balhaf a few days ago.
He pointed out that the countries of aggression took advantage of the truce in order to arrange their conditions and complete the control over the southern provinces, their ports and oil and gas fields to continue looting Yemen's wealth amid the global energy crisis.
Governor al-Awlaqi stressed that the people of Shabwa are capable of thwarting the plans of the occupying countries and those who stand behind them, calling on all the tribes of Shabwa and the southern provinces in general to stand united in order to expel the occupying forces to honor their honorable history, that rejects all forms of submission to the invaders and occupiers.
