Sana'a - Saba:
The University of Yemen concluded its second productive workshop on Sunday focused on "Modeling the 2030 strategic plan," a part of the project to update the university's strategy for 2025-2030.
The two-day workshop brought together 70 academics, experts, administrators, community members, and labor market representatives to define strategic and sub-goals, establish key performance indicators, and identify key projects and activities for the next five years to achieve the university's vision and mission.
Dr. Mohammed Daifallah emphasized the workshop's importance for the university to meet local and strive for international academic accreditation.
University President Dr. Abdullah Yaya highlighted the leadership's commitment to this strategic planning as crucial for the university's success. Project expert Dr. Noman Fayrouz reviewed the outcomes of the first workshop, including the analysis of the university's current state and the selection of strategic alternatives.
The University Strategic Plan 2030 aims to align with the progress of university education and meet labor market and development needs, in line with national directives to prioritize education.
Today's sessions focused on defining strategic and sub-goals for seven axes: administration and governance, academic programs, staff, students and support, research, resources, and partnerships. Participants also worked on developing key performance indicators, project proposals, timelines, responsibilities, and estimated costs for implementing the plan and monitoring the university's strategic performance.
