SANA'A, Oct. 12 (Saba) - Yemen and World Food Program (WFP) discussed here on Monday the repercussions of reducing humanitarian aid to Yemen.

 

During their meeting, Prime Minister Abdulaziz bin Habtour and WFP's Representative and Country Director in Yemen Laurent Bukera discussed the importance of reinstate the amount of the international aid as it was previously to reduce the suffering of the majority of the Yemeni people and to combat the specter of famine threatening the Yemeni people as a result of the continuous aggression and all-inclusive siege imposed by the Saudi-led coalition on the country.

 

The Premier affirmed that the growing humanitarian needs of the Yemeni people require to increase the amount of the international support, calling on donors and the humanitarian organizations to consider the exceptional circumstance Yemen is going through due to the aggression and its blockade.

 

Bin Habtour affirmed the National Salvation government's keenness to enhance the partnership with WFP and to overcome any difficulties that obstruct its activities.

 

Meanwhile, the WFP official appreciated the government's cooperation to ease the WFP's humanitarian activities, stressing the program's willingness to carry on its activities and provide aid to the targeted groups.
