Yemen, UK talk on security cooperation

SANA'A, Jan.31(Saba)- Interior Minister Mutahar al-Masri met on Monday with British ambassador to Yemen Jonathan Wilks.

At the meeting, al-Masri and Wilks discussed aspects of security cooperation between the two friendly countries and ways of boosting them, especially in combating extremism.

Al-Masri valued Britain's support to Yemen in security aspects, particularly in the fight against crime, terrorism and extremism. He noted to the level of bilateral relations between the two countries.

For his part, Wilks praised the level of security cooperation between the two countries, hoping further cooperation during the coming period.

Moreover, al-Masri met with leader of the evaluation team for the project of judiciary and police development in Sana'a John McIver.

During the meeting, al-Masri urged the british delegation to speed the completion of the technical equipments to begin implementation of the project's first phase as soon as possible.

He hailed efforts made by the Yemeni and British teams to implement this project, confirming the readiness of the Interior Ministry to provide all facilities for the success of this important project.
