Iranian president renews call for probe into "9.11" terrorist attacks
[04/October/2010]

TEHRAN, Oct. 3 (Saba) -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Sunday renewed a call for a probe into the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States, the local satellite Press TV reported, according to Xinhua.

The United States and its allies used the Sept. 11 incident as a pretext to come to the Middle East region, Ahmadinejad said, adding that the facts of the attacks must be clearly established.

He urged the United States to respond to hundreds of questions remain unanswered regarding the "9.11" attacks, the report said.

"We are ready to help Washington arrest them (those involved in the attack)," the president was quoted as saying.

Addressing the annual opening of the UN General Assembly on Sept. 22, Ahmadinejad said that the United States used the "9.11" attacks to dominate the Middle East region and aid Israel.

U.S. President Barack Obama condemned the "offensive" remarks of Iranian president that some segments of the U.S. government played a role in the Sept. 11 attacks.
