Dr. Ibrahim Mahdi, Acting Head of the Tax and Customs Authority, emphasized the importance of improving services and simplifying procedures for citizens.
During his visit to several general departments at the Authority’s headquarters to review work progress, Dr. Mahdi highlighted the critical role the Authority plays in enhancing services and streamlining procedures to achieve the desired goal of strengthening the participatory relationship between the customs administration and the private sector, including traders, importers, and businesspeople.
He noted that establishing an institutional relationship between the Authority and the public requires a commitment to upholding the values of integrity and transparency, ensuring citizens’ transactions are handled smoothly and processed promptly.
Dr. Mahdi also visited the Customs Cultural Institute, where he was briefed by its leadership on ongoing efforts, particularly in the areas of training and capacity-building. These efforts extend beyond customs employees to include relevant private sector stakeholders, including customs brokers.
