Gaza – SABA:
Senior Hamas official Ghazi Hamad reaffirmed on Saturday the movement’s absolute rejection of any attempt to disarm the Palestinian resistance, declaring that “resistance weapons are the core of the Palestinian cause, and we won’t surrender—not even a single empty shell.”
Speaking in an interview with Al Jazeera Mubasher, Hamad said there is national Palestinian consensus on preserving the resistance’s arms, emphasizing that the issue is purely internal and that the weapons will remain in the hands of the resistance as long as the enemy occupies Palestinian land.
He criticized remarks made by some international officials regarding the humanitarian situation in Gaza, accusing them of ignoring UN reports that confirm a systematic starvation policy being enforced against the people of the Gaza Strip.
Regarding the ongoing negotiations with the Israeli regime, Hamad stated that Hamas considers a comprehensive deal—which includes a full ceasefire, an end to the aggression, and lifting of the blockade—as the only viable solution to ease Palestinian suffering.
He warned that partial deals would allow Israel to restart the war at will and said such fragmented solutions do not serve Palestinian interests.
Hamad added that while mediators described Hamas’s recent response in talks as positive, the movement was surprised by the Israeli delegation’s abrupt withdrawal—an indication, he said, that the occupying power lacks genuine intent to reach a fair and comprehensive agreement.
