A meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local and Rural Administration Mohammad al-Madani was held on Monday to discuss ways to enhance cooperative development efforts in the Capital Sana'a.
The meeting, which included the Mayor of the Capital Dr. Hamoud Obad, Deputy Minister of Local Administration Ammar al-Harib, and heads of the Social Affairs and Planning Committees in the Capital, Hamoud al-Naqeeb and Sharaf al-Hadi, reviewed the operational mechanisms of cooperative associations in the capital’s districts.
It also addressed the completion of procedures for establishing associations in remaining districts and activating their role in implementing various development programs.
The meeting highlighted the roles and responsibilities of the cooperative associations and “Development Knights” in supporting local authorities and executive bodies across the districts.
It emphasized their involvement in executing service and development projects in a way that meets community aspirations and contributes to achieving sustainable development goals.
Deputy Prime Minister al-Madani stressed the importance of enhancing community participation in the Capital Sana'a's service, development, and social projects, in order to strengthen local development and fulfill strategic objectives.
He praised the role of cooperative associations and Development Knights in serving society and contributing to the implementation of development plans based on well-studied foundations drawn from community needs and comprehensive development requirements.
