A Palestinian infant was martyred on Monday morning in the Gaza Strip due to a shortage of milk and famine, following the ongoing military aggression and Israeli blockade on the Strip since October 7, 2023.
According to Sanad News Agency, a medical source at "Al-Shifa Hospital" said that the infant, Mohammad Ibrahim Addas, was martyred as a result of malnutrition, lack of baby formula, and famine in Gaza.
The Strip is witnessing a severe humanitarian crisis due to the continued blockade imposed by the Israeli enemy forces. With this, the total number of deaths due to famine and malnutrition has risen to 134, including 88 children.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) had warned that malnutrition among children under the age of five had doubled between March and June as a result of the ongoing blockade.
Meanwhile, the World Health Organization confirmed that malnutrition rates in Gaza have reached alarming levels, and that the deliberate blockade and delay of aid have caused many deaths, stating that nearly one in five children under the age of five in Gaza City suffers from acute malnutrition.
