Beijing - Saba:
The South China Morning Post reported that a high-level delegation comprising American businessmen is visiting China this week, coinciding with the new round of trade negotiations between Beijing and Washington.
Earlier, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce stated that delegations from China and the United States would hold a new round of trade and economic negotiations in Sweden from July 27 to 30.
The newspaper indicated that the list of executives from American companies and the details of their visit program are unknown, while sources suggested that the delegation may include representatives from Boeing.
The newspaper quoted one source as saying: "They are expected to meet with Chinese officials, possibly with the aim of resuming trade talks."
The US-China Business Council is organizing the American delegation’s trip to Beijing, which, according to the newspaper, will be the highest-level business delegation visit to China since US President Donald Trump began imposing tariffs on goods coming from China in April, sparking a wide-scale trade war between the two countries.
