Death triad ravages Gaza amid global silence & Yemen’s lone stand for Palestine

Sana’a – SABA:

Gaza continues to suffer under the relentless grip of the “death triad” — hunger, disease, and bombardment — as Israel’s war machine, backed openly by the U.S. and Europe, escalates what many now describe as a textbook case of modern genocide. This onslaught unfolds in full view of a complicit international community.

After nearly two years of military failure, Israel has resorted to blockade and starvation in an attempt to force mass displacement. It has turned Gaza into rubble using every form of weaponry, including internationally banned arms.

Grim images flood the screens daily: starving children, dehydrated women, and frail elderly, dying in droves as humanitarian agencies watch in silence. This slow-motion extermination, widely dubbed “the crime of the century,” exposes the impotence of global institutions.

Palestinians are now drinking stagnant water and scavenging for food scraps — some children have been forced to eat dirt and watermelon rinds — due to Israel’s total closure of border crossings and systematic denial of aid.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, 15 people, including four children, died of hunger in just the last 24 hours. Thousands of families have gone days without food, water, or medicine, while aid convoys remain blocked. The World Food Programme has warned that a full-scale famine could wipe out over two million people in the besieged strip.

Making matters worse, the U.S.-backed so-called “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” — set up inside the enclave — has become a deadly trap. Since May 27, 995 Palestinians seeking food have been killed and over 6,000 injured while approaching its operations, as reported by WAFA. The foundation is now seen as a facade for war crimes disguised as relief work.

In stark contrast to the Arab regimes’ habitual declarations of solidarity, their actual silence — and in some cases, complicity — has become deafening. Many of these governments now tacitly align with the U.S.-Israeli agenda, offering no tangible support to Gaza’s besieged population.

International rights organizations have done little beyond issuing toothless press releases, crippled by Western pressure and a lack of serious Arab or Islamic political backing.

Only Yemen, despite enduring over a decade of war and siege itself, has taken a bold and consistent stand. Since the start of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood in October 2023, the Yemeni leadership and public have supported the Palestinian resistance both rhetorically and operationally. Houthi leader Abdulmalik al-Houthi’s declared “escalatory options” have been seen as a unique, meaningful contribution to the Palestinian cause.

Meanwhile, over two million Gazans are being left to die in an isolated strip while some of the region’s wealthiest states not only ignore their suffering but also assist Israel militarily and logistically — a moral collapse of historic proportions.

The worsening famine in Gaza is one of the most lethal tools of modern genocide, where people are now dying on live television. It happens with global paralysis, U.S. endorsement, and an international system incapable of stopping the bloodshed.

Yemen, though battered by years of foreign aggression, has not wavered. Its support for Palestine is grounded in principle, not politics — a rare stance in a region where betrayal has become policy.

As normalization deals expose their true cost, certain Arab regimes are now directly involved in the siege of Gaza, pressuring the resistance to capitulate, and aligning themselves openly with the U.S.-Israeli axis.

Gaza has thus ceased to be just a humanitarian issue; it has become a litmus test for the moral integrity of nations and peoples. History will not forget who stood firm with Palestine — and who sold it out in its darkest hour.
