Wave of international condemnation poses humanitarian & moral challenges to halt genocide in Gaza Strip

Wave of international condemnation poses humanitarian & moral challenges to halt genocide in Gaza Strip
[Fri, 25 Jul 2025 10:14:48 +0300]

Sana'a - Saba:

A broad wave of international condemnation has recently swept the world, condemning and rejecting the ongoing genocidal war crime in the Gaza Strip and demanding that the Israeli entity immediately halt the war.

The wave has extended beyond the statement of the foreign ministers of 25 countries, including Britain, France, and other major powers, to international organizations and entities, added to this are the political statements issued daily on the news, confirming that what is happening in the Gaza Strip represents a violation and condemnation of the laws of human civilization and the ethical standards of human life, these statements have even led to condemnation of the global silence and hold the world's countries responsible for taking a real stance to halt the massacres committed daily by the Israeli enemy army in the Gaza Strip, flouting all international conventions, laws, and codes of human ethics.

However, these international positions remain limited to the voice box and have not gone beyond the realm of rhetoric, while Israeli actions have not ceased for even an hour, claiming lives and destroying everything in the Strip. Furthermore, indicators of the deteriorating humanitarian situation of Gaza's residents, including starvation, thirst, displacement, and forced migration, are increasing. Despite all this, Zionist missiles and shells pursue them, killing them with hunger and thirst, those not killed by the missiles and shells are afflicted by hunger, thirst, malnutrition, and bullets fired by American aid distribution centers.

Hunger is ravaging devastated Gaza after the Zionist entity tightened its siege and closed the crossings for more than 140 days, preventing the entry of humanitarian, food, and medical aid, in parallel with the genocide being perpetrated by the criminal entity in the Strip through air, land, and sea bombardment of shelters and tents for the displaced.

In light of the systematic starvation, deadly siege, and genocide being perpetrated against the civilian population of Gaza, including killing, forced displacement, destruction of infrastructure, and human rights violations, the international community and the entire world are called upon more than ever to take practical measures to immediately stop the crime of genocide and starvation, and to exert maximum pressure and impose sanctions on this criminal entity, without being satisfied with condemnation, because what is happening in Gaza is “a full-fledged crime being committed under the eyes of the world” without any real action being taken to stop these crimes.

Bleeding Crimes and Bloody Events

Here, the Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, strongly criticized on Tuesday the so-called aid distribution programs in the Gaza Strip, particularly the "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation," describing them as a "sadistic death trap."

In press statements, Lazzarini pointed out that Israeli snipers are opening fire indiscriminately on crowds queuing for food, as if they have a "license to kill," amid mass persecution of Palestinian civilians without any accountability, according to the Palestinian Quds Press Agency.

He added that the famine is worsening day by day in the Gaza Strip, and no one is immune, he pointed out that doctors, nurses, journalists, and humanitarian workers are suffering from severe hunger, and many of them are fainting while performing their duties from exhaustion and malnutrition.

The UNRWA Commissioner-General stated that this "cannot be the new normal," stressing that humanitarian aid must not be turned into a mission carried out by mercenaries.

In the same context, the director of Al-Shifa Hospital, Dr. Mohammed Abu Salmiya, warned of "frightening" numbers that could be recorded in the coming days as a result of the spread of famine, confirming that approximately 900,000 children in Gaza are suffering from hunger, while 70,000 of them have entered a stage of severe malnutrition.

Abu Salmiya said in press statements on Tuesday that the death toll from famine in the Gaza Strip has risen to 21 martyrs in the past few hours, warning of "frightening" numbers of deaths in the coming days due to the deliberate starvation of the Strip's population.

The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced earlier today, Tuesday, the deaths of 15 Palestinians, including four children, in the past 24 hours, as a result of famine and malnutrition exacerbated by the ongoing Israeli blockade of the Strip.

This brings the total number of deaths from famine and malnutrition to 101, including 80 children.

The Ministry confirmed that aid distribution centers have been subjected to repeated Israeli attacks, the most recent of which occurred in the past few hours, five civilians were killed and 52 others were injured, bringing the death toll from what have become known as American "death traps" to 1,026 martyrs and 6,563 wounded, this represents one of the most heinous forms of humanitarian exploitation, transforming aid into a deadly trap for civilians.

Before a statement was issued by 25 countries demanding an immediate end to the war on Gaza, a statement was issued by 80 countries demanding an end to this brutal war. Between the two statements, statements have been issued repeatedly, but no real action has been taken.

In this context, Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares called on the international community to take immediate action to stop the war on the Gaza Strip, holding Israel responsible for the worsening humanitarian crisis and preventing aid from entering the Strip.

In an interview with Al Jazeera News Channel on Tuesday, Albares said, "I call on everyone to put an end to what is happening in Gaza، the war must stop immediately, and humanitarian aid must be allowed in." He emphasized that "Israel is the one preventing supplies from entering Gaza, and this is shameful."

He added, "Israel is responsible for the situation in Gaza, and its goal is to displace the population."

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot on Tuesday escalated his country's tone regarding the Israeli military escalation in the Gaza Strip, describing the humanitarian situation in the Strip as "unacceptable" and "a scandal that must stop immediately."

In press statements, Barro said that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is unacceptable, and that what is happening there is a humanitarian scandal that must stop immediately, he stressed the need to halt the Israeli military operations that have been ongoing for months.

Likewise, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaya Kallas, said on Tuesday that the Israeli army must stop killing civilians at aid distribution points in the Gaza Strip.

Kallas added, in a post on the X platform, that "killing civilians seeking aid in Gaza is unjustifiable."

What's next?

In light of these positions, the Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah, Naim Qassem, said on Tuesday that it is not enough for twenty-five countries to call for an end to the war against Gaza, this does not excuse their testimony to what is happening, nor does it excuse the support provided by some major countries since the beginning of the aggression.

He said, "Positions and condemnations do not exonerate their proponents. What is required is for these positions to be transformed into actual measures that stop these massacres and crimes by imposing sanctions on the Israeli entity, isolating it, prosecuting it, and halting all forms of dealing with it."

He continued in a statement, "History will record this shame on the leaders of humanity and its regimes in an era of hateful starvation and the wholesale killing of the starving, the injustice of America and Israel will extend to those who remain silent about supporting the oppressed." Know that “the wrongdoers will not succeed,” and that Israel’s excessive brutality and arrogance will be the cause of its terrible downfall, Allah willing.”

He emphasized that the greatest responsibility for the suffering of the Gaza Strip lies with the Arab and Islamic countries, both rulers and peoples. Addressing them, he said: "Choose the positions you want, within the limits that suit you, but do not stand idly by."

He said in a statement: "Stop normalization, close the enemy's embassies, prevent trade exchange, and unite to support Palestine and Gaza, even with the bare minimum of living resources, because America when see Arab unites as one hand and one voice with the Palestinian people, it will submit and retreat."

Furthermore, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) issued an appeal on Tuesday to the leaders and rulers of the Arab and Islamic nations, emphasizing that the Palestinian people are dying of hunger, and that the time has come to break the restrictions, open the crossings, and provide relief to the starving in the Gaza Strip.

Hamas said in a press statement that the appeal comes "as the famine in the Gaza Strip enters dangerous and unprecedented stages, after nearly five months of complete closure, and the deaths of nearly 100 civilians, including 80 children, due to the policy of starvation and malnutrition, in addition to 1,000 starving martyrs killed by Israeli enemy bullets at the gates of aid control points."

It noted that this comes at a time when the world is watching this humanitarian tragedy orchestrated by the enemy in the Gaza Strip without taking any action.

In this context, the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, said, "There are no words to describe what is happening in Gaza, the famine has reached its peak." She warned that Gaza "is experiencing a tragic reality and has become a graveyard for children due to the world's inaction." She added that "the blockade and restrictions on the entry of aid are contributing to the increase in deaths," and called for "an end to the catastrophe occurring in the Gaza Strip."

Albanese also criticized the United States and Israel, saying, "They are distributing food using a mechanism that relies on killing, and therefore it is a criminal project that faces no opposition."

From the above, the wave of international condemnation must transform into an effective movement to put an end to the Israeli war of extermination in the Gaza Strip. Otherwise, all the values that have been embodied in human civilization for centuries and ages will be lost to the rivers of blood spilled every hour in the Gaza Strip.

With American and European support, the Israeli enemy army has continued to commit crimes of genocide in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, resulting in the deaths of 59,106 Palestinian civilians, the majority of whom are children and women, and the injury of 142,511 others, this is a preliminary toll, with thousands of victims still buried under the rubble and on the streets, unable to be reached by ambulances and rescue teams.
