Ibb - Saba:
The Education Sector in Ibb governorate held a cultural symposium on Wednesday marking the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Zaid ibn Ali, peace be upon him, under the theme "Insight and Jihad."
The event featured two scholarly papers. In the first, Abdulfattah Ghallab, the governorate's mobilization official, highlighted the importance of honoring this significant occasion.
He described Imam Zaid as a revolutionary figure who stood for divine principles and the defense of the oppressed. Ghallab underscored that Imam Zaid's legacy continues the path of his grandfather, Imam Hussein, in confronting tyranny and injustice.
Ghallab noted that commemorating Imam Zayd's martyrdom fosters pride and strengthens the nation's moral compass, especially at a time when there is an urgent need to return to the values of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).
The second paper, delivered by Dr. Arif al-Qadri, explored Imam Zaid's role in the struggle against authoritarianism. He stressed that the Imam's uprising was a response to the deviations and power monopolization by the Umayyad rulers. Al-Qadri described Imam Zaid as a voice of truth during a critical juncture in Islamic history, noting that his stance inspired a commitment to justice and freedom.
At the opening of the symposium, Muhammad al-Ghazali, head of the education sector in the governorate, emphasized the significance of the occasion in enriching educational and cultural awareness among younger generations. He affirmed the sector’s responsibility to embed values drawn from the lives of religious leaders, particularly those who upheld justice and integrity.
Al-Ghazali called for renewed commitment to truth and justice and warned against misinformation campaigns aimed at distorting national identity and heritage.
