Moscow - Saba:
Vladimir Rogov, Chairman of the Committee on Sovereignty Issues of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation and Co-Chairman of the Coordination Council for the Integration of New Territories, announced that "Russian army units have pushed Ukrainian armed forces to the northern outskirts of the town of Kamenskoye, towards Stepnogorsk in Zaporizhia Oblast."
Sputnik quoted Rogov as saying in a statement, "Our forces have advanced in Kamenskoye and taken control of the western part of the town. The enemy has retreated, trying to hold on to the northern and northeastern outskirts."
Rogov explained that fierce fighting is still ongoing in the area to liberate the entire village and push back Ukrainian forces.
Rogov had previously confirmed that Russian forces had positioned themselves in the central part of the village and continued to pressure Ukrainian armed forces from the east and south.
The towns of Kamenskoye and Stepnogorsk are located in Zaporozhye Oblast, on the left bank of the former Kakhovka Reservoir, along the Moscow-Simferopol highway.
Ukrainian forces currently occupy Stepnogorsk, while battles are underway for control of Kamenskoye. Opening the road through the two towns would pave the way for access to the city of Zaporozhye.
The Russian Ministry of Defense reported on Sunday that Russian soldiers had targeted a temporary deployment point for foreign mercenaries of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Zaporozhye Oblast using Russian "Giran-2" drones.
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated: "The crews of the "Giran-2" drones destroyed a temporary deployment point for foreign mercenaries in the area of the Meridian Center in Zaporozhye Oblast.'
It explained that "workshops for the production of drones and their components in the village of Konotop in Sumy Oblast" were also targeted.
