Washington - Saba:
White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt announced that President Donald Trump is not personally involved in negotiations with Tehran, explaining that his administration's representatives are in direct and indirect contact with Iran.
Leavitt said in a press statement: "The president himself is not negotiating with Iran. At the same time, our special envoy, Steve Witkoff, and other administration representatives are in direct and indirect contact with the Iranian side."
Previously, US President Donald Trump confirmed that he is not conducting any talks with Iran, reiterating that the United States has "completely destroyed Iran's nuclear facilities."
Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-e Ravanchi confirmed that Iran insists on enriching uranium for peaceful use within its territory, noting that the level and capacity of enrichment are negotiable.
Regarding the future of talks between Iran and Washington, he explained that no specific date has been agreed upon for returning to negotiations, and he does not yet know what will be on the agenda.
He indicated that Iran is awaiting a clear answer to a fundamental question: Will the aggression be repeated while we are conducting dialogue? He added that America must be fully transparent about its intentions and what it will offer to build the trust necessary to begin any serious dialogue.
