Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei noted that the administration of US President Donald Trump cannot talk about diplomacy after its betrayal, adding that diplomacy never ends.
Following the US attack on three nuclear facilities in Iran, Baghaei declared that Washington must bear responsibility for the consequences of war. The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman told CNN that Tehran had witnessed a "betrayal of diplomacy" by the Trump administration, according to the Iranian Mehr News Agency.
Baghaei noted that the Trump administration cannot talk about diplomacy after its betrayal, adding that diplomacy never ends. He said, "No one knows what will happen in the future, but what is certain is that the responsibility for the consequences of this war lies with the United States and the Zionist regime."
The Iranian diplomat also refused to disclose how Iran would respond to the US attack on its nuclear sites, but emphasized that Tehran has the right to exercise its right to self-defense. "We will certainly do so," he added. US President Trump's recent statements and threats of further attacks amount to global bullying.
Baghaei warned that the attacks by the Zionist regime and the United States have placed the region in an unprecedentedly dangerous situation. The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman stressed that Tehran has exercised complete restraint in responding to the Zionist entity's military aggression, limiting its attacks to military and security targets.
In this interview, Baghaei described the statements of the Minister of Defense and officials of the Zionist regime regarding the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran as "repugnant." The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman emphasized that Iran has made every effort for diplomacy and peace, saying, "History will not forgive what the US government is doing."
