Trump: US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites accurately hit targets
[Mon, 23 Jun 2025 15:34:36 +0300]

Washington - Saba:

US President Donald Trump boasted about the US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, which constitute a flagrant violation of international law, the UN Charter, and Security Council resolutions, saying that they accurately hit their targets and reached deep underground.

Trump wrote on his Truth Social page, citing satellite images documenting the effects of the strikes, as reported by the Novosti news agency and RT: "The greatest damage was caused far below the surface of the earth. We hit the target accurately!!"

On the night of June 22, the United States launched strikes against three Iranian nuclear facilities in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan. Washington said the attack was aimed at destroying or fundamentally degrading Iran's nuclear program.

US President Donald Trump added that Tehran must agree to "end this war," otherwise Iran would face more serious consequences. In response, US Vice President J.D. Vance said after the attacks—which the Iranian side described as barbaric and criminal—that the United States was not at war with the Islamic Republic.

For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that "the door to diplomacy must always remain open, but now is not the time." He emphasized that the United States had betrayed diplomacy, noting that Iran would take all necessary measures to protect its security and national interests. The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran also announced that the development of Iran's nuclear industry would not be halted.

Among international reactions, Russia strongly condemned the US strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, considering them a flagrant violation of international law, the UN Charter, and Security Council resolutions. Moscow also called on the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to provide a credible response to the events. In addition, both Cuba and China have strongly condemned the US operation.
