Tehran - Saba:
An explosion was heard in the Iranian capital, Tehran, on Saturday morning after air defenses were activated in an attempt to counter Israeli attacks.
Fars News Agency reported that three explosions were heard east of the central Iranian capital. The agency's statement indicated that air defenses were intercepting Israeli targets in the capital's airspace.
Tasnim News Agency said in a statement: "Since the early hours of this morning, thick smoke has been seen in the sky of southern Tehran. Investigations indicate that this smoke is not related to the Tehran refinery and its facilities, and that the refinery is operating at high efficiency."
It added: "Follow-up indicates that the smoke rising from southern Tehran is the result of the burning of fuel residue in an oil storage tank in Rey, which was damaged in the previous days. This is part of a tank replacement."
