The spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, Majid Akhavan, announced that the country's airspace will remain closed until 2:00 PM on Saturday (June 21, 2025), in light of recent developments and to ensure the safety of passengers and flight security.
Mehr News Agency reported that Akhavan explained that this decision is based on international air traffic control notices (NOTAMs), stressing that the closure aims to maintain aviation security and the safety of passengers.
He called on all citizens to refrain from traveling to airports at this time, stressing that they should follow the latest flight developments only through official sources.
The spokesman emphasized that the airspace restrictions will remain in effect until the country's situation returns to normal, noting that an official announcement regarding the resumption of flights will be made immediately after the end of the emergency situation on the official website of the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization (www.caa.gov.ir), along with official media and reliable news outlets.
