Doha – Saba:
Abdul Rahman Shadid, a leader in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), stated on Saturday that "the settlers' burning of copies of the Holy Quran and vandalizing the Beit Sheikh Mosque in Khirbet Tana, east of Nablus, is a new blatant assault on our Islamic sanctities."
In a press statement obtained by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), Shadid said that the settlers' actions were "a disregard for the feelings of millions of Muslims, as part of the Zionist enemy’s open religious war against our people, land, and holy sites."
He warned of the "escalation of the policy of home demolitions in the West Bank, which has intensified in recent days in the Tulkarm and Jenin camps," stressing that "this policy will not succeed in imposing annexation and displacement plans or deterring our people from holding onto their land."
Shadid called on the "international community to assume its responsibilities toward these escalating violations and crimes," urging "all free people around the world to take urgent action to stop the crimes of the Zionist enemy and restrain the settlers."
The Hamas leader emphasized "the necessity of unity among the Palestinian people in the West Bank in choosing resistance and activating means of confrontation in the face of ongoing Zionist aggression."
