Hodeida - Saba:
The Multi-Purpose Hays Agricultural Cooperative Association was officially launched on Thursday in Al-Jarahi District of Hodeida province.
During an expanded meeting organized by the local council in the district, attended by Hodeida province Services Undersecretary Mohammed Halisi, Assistant Undersecretary for Southern Districts Affairs Muthhar Al-Hadi, representatives from the Social Affairs Office Yahya Haydar, and the Agricultural Union Hadi Hayij, the administrative and supervisory bodies of the association were elected in accordance with the Cooperative Associations’ bylaws.
Undersecretary Halisi described the association’s launch as a qualitative leap in the path of agricultural development in the district and a practical embodiment of the state’s approach to empowering local communities to manage their projects and improve their living conditions.
He noted that Hodeida province is witnessing growing developmental momentum across various sectors, particularly in agriculture, which receives support and attention from the revolutionary leadership and the Supreme Political Council. He stressed the importance of activating the community’s role in investing in available agricultural potential.
For his part, Assistant Undersecretary Muthhar Al-Hadi explained that the establishment of the association reflects the community’s awareness of the importance of cooperative work and confirms the district’s ability to create a successful model in agricultural management and rural development.
He pointed out that the association will serve as a platform for providing agricultural services, production inputs, and implementing sustainable development programs in cooperation with relevant authorities and community initiatives, contributing to food security.
Meanwhile, Marwan Mohammed, Director of Hays District, affirmed that the local council will provide all necessary facilities to ensure the association’s success and will work to overcome any challenges it may face in its early stages.
For his part, Yousef Al-Halisi, Chairman of the Hays Agricultural Cooperative Association, stated that the association’s establishment represents a fundamental step in local development, as its general body includes many farmers from across the district, reflecting a readiness for cooperative and productive work.
