Ibb – Saba:
Ibb governor Abdulwahid Salah on Thursday chaired a meeting to address the governorate's electricity service and strategies to reduce power outages.
The discussions focused on arrangements for constructing two new power plants in the governorate center, aiming to tackle the existing energy deficit and ensure a continuous electricity supply.
The project entails building a 3-megawatt diesel-powered plant in Ibb city and a 2.5-megawatt solar plant in the Shaban area as a first phase.
Electricity Corporation Director Dr. Mishaal al-Rifi attributed current power shortages to US-Israeli aggression targeting generating stations, but affirmed a phased plan is in place to alleviate outages.
Governor Salah underscored the need to utilize all available capabilities, including new generators, to ease citizens' suffering.
Ibb Electricity District Director Engineer Ali al-Mawshaki confirmed preparations are underway for the project, which is part of a strategic plan to enhance continuous electricity supply and reduce outages.
Al-Mawshaki also announced that lighting on the Ring Road would be switched on in the coming days.
