Sana’a – Saba:
The Mayor of the Capital, Dr. Hamoud Obad, stressed the importance of community initiatives in implementing public service projects and supporting the efforts of the local authority to improve infrastructure and services provided to citizens.
Dr. Obad made these remarks during the handover of the site for the project to rehabilitate and restore several streets in the Al-Umana neighborhood of Al-Wahda District. The first phase of the project is valued at 278 million riyals.
He highlighted the need for integrated efforts between official entities and local communities, encouraging the activation and support of initiatives aimed at enhancing service and development work across the capital’s districts.
The project is funded by the Capital Secretariat, with a community contribution from Al-Wahda District. The Public Works Office is participating by handling waste removal, while the Executive Unit for the Construction and Maintenance of Roads and Public Spaces in the Capital is carrying out the implementation. Oversight is provided by the Public Works and Projects Sector and the General Administration for Community Initiative Projects.
The mayor noted that the first phase of the project includes the construction of a concrete surface bridge, stone paving, asphalt patching for damaged road sections, and earthwork operations such as cutting, spraying, compacting, and leveling on the targeted streets.
