Tehran - Saba:
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian confirmed on Monday that his country neither sought nor initiated war with the Israeli entity, asserting that the United States allowed the entity to attack Iran in violation of international norms.
Pezeshkian said during a session of the Islamic Consultative Assembly on Monday, according to the Iranian News Agency (IRNA): "The United States is using force and, contrary to international norms, is allowing the Israeli entity to launch an aggression against Iran." He explained that his country neither sought nor initiated war, as Zionist terrorists are the ones who assassinated Iranian leaders and scholars.
Pezeshkian explained that, in accordance with the recommendations of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Iran has given diplomacy a chance, opened the door to negotiations and dialogue, and initiated indirect negotiations. It has also repeatedly emphasized that it does not seek to possess nuclear weapons, based on its firm principles, its clear and unshakable doctrine, and the fatwa of Ayatollah Khamenei in this regard.
He added, "We have the right to benefit from nuclear energy and research that serves the interests of this society. No one has the right to deprive the Islamic Republic of this right. We firmly adhere to this right and fear no force in its pursuit."
In this context, he emphasized that the Iranian people must unite and stand firmly in the face of the aggression they are subjected to.
The Iranian president said, "The enemy cannot destroy Iran and its people through murder and terrorism, because for every rise, there are hundreds of other heroes who will carry the banner, continue the path, and stand up against the cruelty, injustice, crime, and treason committed by these cowards. This is what the Iranian people have demonstrated so far, and they have stood firm in the face of all this cowardice.
The Iranian president also emphasized the need to treat peoples according to their rights, noting that what Iran and its people are demanding today is an indisputable, legitimate right, based on all international laws.
