Sana'a – Saba:
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources on Saturday announced the closure of the squid fishing season in the Red sea region, effective immediately from June 14, 2025, until further notice.
A ministry decision, obtained by Saba, prohibits all squid fishing during this period.
The General Authority for Fisheries in the Red Sea has been instructed to inventory all stored squid quantities in preparation labs, refrigerators, and fishery facilities within one week.
The Ministry warned that violators will face penalties stipulated by the Law Regulating Fishing, Exploitation and Protection of Aquatic Life.
