The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip confirmed on Thursday that the Israeli enemy is intensifying its deliberate efforts to put Nasser Medical Complex out of service by targeting the surrounding residential areas and evacuating residents.
The Ministry said in a statement, "This is a result of the Israeli enemy contacting and informing residents of Nasser Medical Complex area and its surroundings that it is an evacuation and operations zone, which caused panic among patients and citizens."
The Ministry emphasized that Nasser Medical Complex is the only facility in the southern governorate that provides specialized services such as dialysis, nurseries, intensive care, and surgical procedures. Its cessation would mean the deaths of hundreds of patients and a humanitarian catastrophe.
It added: "After the Israeli enemy emptied the northern Gaza governorate of hospitals, it continues with all arrogance to implement its plans to strike the health system and empty the southern governorate of hospitals."
The Ministry of Health renewed its "urgent appeal to all concerned parties to intervene immediately to protect health facilities and enable them to continue providing medical care."
