Jeddah - Saba:
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has welcomed the joint decision taken by the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and Norway to impose sanctions on the extremist Israeli National Security Ministers Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich for their inflammatory statements against the Gaza Strip.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the OIC considered this an important step towards promoting justice and accountability and ending the impunity enjoyed by Israeli officials implicated in war crimes, crimes against humanity, incitement to violence, organized terrorism, and genocide.
In this context, the OIC condemned Ben-Gvir's renewed storming of the blessed al-Aqsa Mosque, under the protection of the Israeli police, considering it a further provocation of Muslims and a dangerous escalation of plans aimed at changing the historical and legal status of the holy sites in Jerusalem, including the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
