Tehran – Saba:
Representative Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesman for the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Parliament, said on Tuesday that the committee members emphasized in their meeting that the Americans have no right to blackmail the Iranian people, and that we will not give up uranium enrichment as it is a legal right of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Rezaei told reporters: During today's parliamentary committee meeting, the latest report by the Secretary-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on activating the "trigger mechanism" and issues related to the negotiations were discussed. Deputy Chairman of the committee, Mahmoud Nabavian, provided a detailed explanation of this mechanism.
He added, "According to Nabavian's report, resuming the Security Council resolutions on the sanctions imposed on Iran has no serious practical effect under the imposed sanctions, because oil exports, banking and financial activities, and other activities are currently subject to this ban."
Rezaei pointed out that "freezing the assets of individuals and inspecting aircraft and ships were included in Security Council resolutions prior to the nuclear agreement (the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action), and these same matters were mentioned in Security Council Resolution 2231. Therefore, there is no cause for concern." He added, "We must not ignore the interests of the Iranian people in our dealings with Europe and in the indirect negotiations we are conducting with the Americans."
