Hajjah – Saba:
A meeting held on Tuesday in Hajjah governorate, chaired by Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources Dr. Radwan al-Rubai discussed the mechanisms for implementing the Production Expansion and Contract Farming Programs for Grains and Legumes.
The meeting, attended by ministry undersecretaries and other officials, reviewed concerted efforts to expand cultivation of these strategic crops. The programs aim to ensure food security, strengthen resilience against aggression, reduce the import bill, and achieve self-sufficiency, aligning with directives from the Leader of the Revolution and the Supreme Political Council, and as part of the Government of Change and Construction's agenda.
Minister al-Rubai emphasized the need for strong coordination among various agencies for efficient program implementation. He also stressed the importance of surveying farmers' data and organizing them into field schools to provide agricultural guidance and improve services.
Ammar al-Hareb, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Local Administration and Rural Development, highlighted that these programs are a priority in the ministry's plans and a key indicator for evaluating directorate directors' performance.
