Sana’a – Saba:

The Council of Ministers, in its regular session on Tuesday chaired by Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi, reviewed several agenda items related to public services, national security, and the ongoing military support provided by Yemen to the Palestinian people in the besieged Gaza Strip.

The Council listened to a report presented by Minister of Defense and Military Industrialization Major General Mohammed al-Atefi on the progress of naval and aerial support operations by the Yemeni Armed Forces in defense of Gaza, in light of the continued brutal and fascist aggression, ethnic cleansing, and genocide committed by the criminal Zionist enemy.

The Minister affirmed that the Yemeni Armed Forces are fully prepared to escalate operations should leadership directives be issued. This escalation would increase the intensity of the air and sea blockade and inflict heavier losses on the enemy across multiple dimensions.

He emphasized that Yemen possesses strategic deterrent capabilities and an air force capable of operating 24/7 under various conditions. These forces can launch missiles and carry out airstrikes against high-value, sensitive, and strategic targets deep within the occupied Palestinian territories.

General al-Atefi highlighted that the prolonged conflict has positively contributed to the development of both defensive and offensive military capabilities—extending ranges, improving precision and impact, and incorporating advanced technology. He reaffirmed the readiness of the Yemeni Armed Forces to continue providing impactful support to Gaza’s fighters and factions resisting in defense of dignity, honor, and Islamic sanctities.

The report noted Yemen’s historic achievement—by the grace of God, the guidance of its leadership, and the perseverance of its soldiers on the ground—in repelling American aggression, ending the hegemony of fleets and aircraft carriers that had dominated the seas since World War II, and opening a new chapter in modern warfare characterized by hypersonic missiles and aerial supremacy.

The Cabinet expressed its strong support for the qualitative and painful operations carried out by the Yemeni Armed Forces—particularly the missile and drone strikes targeting key strategic sites deep inside the Zionist entity, including in the vicinity of Lod Airport—leading to the disruption of air traffic on an ongoing basis.

It praised the rapid advancement in the capabilities of the Armed Forces, notably the development of modern and sophisticated hypersonic missiles and drone technologies.

The Cabinet stressed that no amount of pressure—be it intimidation, persuasion, or mediation—will deter Yemen’s leadership, government, or people from fulfilling their religious, moral, and fraternal duty to support the oppressed people of Gaza until the aggression ceases, the blockade is lifted, and the occupation ends.

It warned that continued Zionist aggression will be met with intensified Yemeni response, resulting in greater military, economic, and political losses for the enemy, exacerbating its internal crises, and further demoralizing its occupying forces.

The Cabinet hailed the heroic resistance fighters in Gaza, who not only defend their land and people but also protect the dignity of the entire Islamic nation and its sacred sites. It reiterated its strong condemnation of the daily massacres and war crimes committed by the Israeli enemy, particularly against children, women, and the elderly—atrocities that shock the conscience of the world.

The Council discussed a memorandum from Deputy Prime Minister for Defense and Security Affairs Lt. Gen. Jalal al-Rowaishan, on unauthorized detention centers operated by some government agencies. The Cabinet directed the organization of a workshop involving the Ministries of Local Administration, Finance, Interior, and the Public Prosecution to review all legal and procedural aspects and present unified recommendations for final discussion.

The Cabinet approved a joint memorandum from Minister of Finance Abduljabbar Mohammed and Minister of Electricity, Energy and Water Dr. Ali Saif regarding measures to reconcile government electricity debts. The measures include data collection and analysis of debts owed since 2019, with the aim of enabling the General Electricity Corporation to pursue development projects while fulfilling its financial obligations.

Approval was granted for a draft amendment to Police Authority Law No. 15 of 2000, submitted by Minister of Interior Maj. Gen. Abdulkarim al-Houthi in coordination with the State Legal Office. The draft will be submitted to the Parliament for constitutional procedures. The amendment seeks to strengthen police performance and crime-fighting efforts.

The Cabinet also approved a memorandum regarding the regulation of motorcycle use, submitted by the Minister of Interior. The proposal includes disciplinary actions for traffic violations involving motorcycles, including increased penalties for serious infractions such as driving on sidewalks or in the wrong direction. A public awareness campaign will precede the enforcement phase.

The Council received a briefing from Minister of Education and Scientific Research Hassan al-Saadi on the progress of national exams and praised the level of preparation and oversight provided across various governorates.

Minister al-Saadi also presented a memorandum on the Seventh Season Annual Competition for Creative and Innovative Projects. A committee was formed—including representatives from the Ministries of Education, Scientific Research, Economy, Industry, and Investment—to study the needs and promote the sustainability of such initiatives. Results will be submitted to the Council for adoption.

At the end of the session, the Cabinet extended its warmest congratulations to Leader of the Revolution Sayyed Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi, the Chairman and members of the Supreme Political Council, and all Yemenis—including the Armed and Security Forces on the frontlines—on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.

The Council prayed that this blessed event brings victory, unity, and blessings to Yemen, Palestine, and the broader Islamic nation.
