The Turkish Presidency announced on Tuesday that a leaders' summit on resolving the conflict in Ukraine, called for by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, may be held soon, indicating that the negotiation process in Istanbul may bring forward the date.
The Russian news agency Sputnik quoted a Turkish Presidency spokesperson as saying: "We hope this will happen very soon. Everything depends on the negotiation process between the delegations (of Russia and Ukraine) in Istanbul, which may bring forward the date of this summit."
The second round of negotiations between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations concluded yesterday, Monday, at the Ciragan Palace in Istanbul, in the presence of a Turkish delegation. The negotiations were chaired by Russian Presidential Assistant Vladimir Medinsky.
