A meeting was held on Monday in Al-Thowra District of the Capital Secretariat to form a preparatory committee for the Multi-Purpose Al-Thowra Cooperative Association.
The meeting, attended by Abdullah Al-Kahlani, representative of the Ministry of Administration and Local and Rural Development; Saleh Al-Qutaybi and Yahya Ghaylan, heads of the Services and Social Affairs Committees in the district; Fadl Al-Hajji, Director of the Social Affairs and Labor Office; Najla Amer, Director of Initiatives Management; and Muhammad Awadh, coordinator of the Bunyan Foundation in the Shu’ub, Al-Thowra, and Wahda districts, discussed ways to enhance community participation in local development.
The meeting reviewed the mechanism for selecting the preparatory committee and drafting the foundational statute and bylaws to officially establish the association, aiming to advance developmental work and activate the role of development champions in Al-Thowra District.
The gathering emphasized the importance of translating leadership directives into actionable plans and programs, raising awareness about volunteer work methodologies, and strengthening the role of associations and community initiatives in various developmental and service fields.
Additionally, the meeting highlighted the role of cooperative associations in improving performance, serving the community, and advancing development efforts to achieve desired goals.
