A meeting chaired by governor Abdullah Atifi in Hodeida governorate on Tuesday focused on the emergency plan for the upcoming Eid al-Adha holiday.
The meeting addressed coordination between service and security agencies and the intensification of field operations to enhance performance during the Eid period.
Attended by the Governorate Security Director and heads of relevant offices and institutions, the meeting reviewed measures to ensure the continuity of essential services, improve the city's appearance, and provide a stable and safe environment.
The Health Office presented its preparations for hospitals and health centers, including staffing, medical supplies, emergency room readiness, and coordination with field emergency units.
The Cleanliness and Improvement Fund's plan, involving neighborhood and street cleaning, maintenance of lighting, and preparation of parks and gardens, was also reviewed to ensure a clean and welcoming environment for citizens during Eid.
Security agencies, including the Coast Guard, Public Security, and Traffic, outlined their deployment plans, traffic control on key roads, and the deployment of rescue teams near the coast and tourist areas.
The meeting also discussed mechanisms for market monitoring during Eid, with a decision to intensify field visits by Supply Committees to control prices, prevent monopolies, and monitor the availability of goods.
Governor Atifi emphasized the importance of teamwork in implementing the Eid plan, viewing it as a test of official bodies' ability to respond effectively and meet citizens' expectations. He called for enhanced preparedness across all vital sectors.
He stated that these measures reflect a commitment to citizens and stressed the need for joint operations rooms linking executive and security agencies for rapid emergency response.
The Governor called for an assessment of the plan's implementation and the submission of periodic reports to the governorate leadership, including observations, challenges, and solutions, to ensure the plan's desired impact.
He concluded that the success of the emergency plan depends on preparedness, field discipline, and immediate response capabilities, reflecting the seriousness of institutional performance and reinforcing Hodeida's ability to manage public events efficiently and responsibly.
