Sana'a – Saba:
A meeting was held in the capital Sana'a on Monday, chaired by Minister of Health and Environment Dr. Ali Shaiban, to discuss the current epidemiological situation of acute watery diarrhea, including cholera, and to plan rapid interventions to combat it.
The meeting focused on urgent measures needed to limit the spread of cholera, as well as the procedures for receiving and treating suspected cases.
During the meeting, which included ministry undersecretaries and directors of health offices and programs across the governorates via video conference, Minister Shaiban stressed the necessity of increasing preparedness, investigating the origins and hotspots of the disease, and accelerating interventions to prevent further spread.
He underscored the importance of unified efforts between the Ministry, its local offices, governorate authorities, and relevant executive bodies to effectively confront and prevent the spread of cholera. He also requested the submission of regular reports to the Ministry on the implemented measures.
The Minister of Health and Environment emphasized the critical role of intensifying community health awareness and education regarding acute watery diarrhea, its prevention, and the importance of personal hygiene.
