Hodeida - Saba;
A central fixed veterinary clinic was inaugurated on Sunday in Bait al-Faqih district in Hodeida governorate.
The clinic's opening is part of a project by Bait al-Faqih Multipurpose Cooperative Society aimed at improving animal health services, increasing animal production efficiency, and enhancing the livelihoods of farmers and livestock breeders in the district.
At the opening, District Director Hussein Zain hailed the clinic as a significant step in the participatory development program to expand veterinary services across various districts. He commended the cooperative society, the Ministry of Agriculture, and the governorate's financing unit for their roles in the project's success.
Animal Health Coordinator Engineer Hilal al-Jashari emphasized that the clinic's operation and the activation of animal health workers are crucial for protecting livestock from epidemics. He stressed the importance of affordable veterinary services reaching all rural areas sustainably.
Al-Jashari noted that the clinics will not only provide treatment but also raise community awareness about animal care and vaccination, contributing to herd health and economic benefits for farmers.
Abdulsalam Bahnan, Chairman of Bait Al-Faqih Association, announced that the activation of animal health workers would follow the clinic's opening, including a refresher training for ten previously trained workers who will receive veterinary kits and be deployed across the district.
He added that preparations are underway to train another 15 animal health workers to cover all areas of the district, ensuring continuous and low-cost veterinary services.
