London - Saba:
An international coalition comprising unions, solidarity movements, and human rights organizations from more than 32 countries announced the launch of an initiative called the "Global March to Gaza."
The initiative aims to enter the Gaza Strip on foot in an attempt to break the Israeli blockade that has been in place for nearly 20 months.
Saif Abu Kishk, head of the International Coalition Against the Israeli Occupation, explained that the march comes in response to the catastrophic humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip.
He emphasized that the march's objectives revolve around stopping the genocide against the Palestinian people, demanding the urgent entry of humanitarian aid, and pressuring for an end to the blockade imposed on more than two million people in the Strip.
He explained that the "Global March to Gaza" route includes several main stages, beginning with identifying the launching points and coordinating with local activists on the ground. An ongoing dialogue is currently underway to achieve broader organization than that achieved in the participating countries.
The second stage involves dividing the participants into groups, taking into account their different languages and cultures. The participants come from 32 countries. The third phase includes arriving in Cairo, then traveling to El-Arish, and from there setting out on foot toward Gaza, despite the difficult desert road. He emphasized that enduring the difficult conditions is less important than the suffering of the people of Gaza, which has continued for more than 20 months without basic necessities.
The path also includes communicating with relevant parties, particularly Egyptian embassies and the Egyptian government, to coordinate cooperation and support efforts to stop the genocide in Palestine in a transparent manner.
The march will conclude with a sit-in at the Rafah crossing, a major pressure point demanding its opening and the entry of humanitarian aid into the Strip.
The initiative is expected to gain widespread popular and media momentum, given the escalating international demands for urgent action to save what remains of life in Gaza.
